- Most Warblers have gone south for the winter, look for stragglers as they migrate.
- Open water is important if there's an early freeze. Put out heated bird baths for a winter water source.
- Male Anna's Hummingbirds stay at our feeders throughout the winter, be sure to have your nectar fresh and unfrozen at first light.
- Trumpeter Swans arrive.
- In an irruptive year, Snowy Owls arrive.
- Varied Thrush and Red-Breasted Sapsuckers travel down to lowland feeders.
- Pine Siskin flocks may arrive through January - have Nyjer® (thistle) and sunflower chips ready.
- Black Tail and Mule Deer go into rut.
- Leonid meteor shower is mid-month.
