Backyard Beauties - Hummingbirds

If you haven't noticed...the Rufous Hummingbirds are back in the Valley and hungry!  They have started to set up housekeeping so get those feeders out and keep the nectar fresh!  As the weather turns hot over the next couple months, be sure to change your nectar every 2-3 days so these flying jewels will keep coming back to feed at your feeders.    Does it feel that your life is too busy to keep track of the nectar freshness, but you really love seeing the hummers in your yard?  Check out a  relatively new product called Nectar Defender.  It helps to extend the time the nectar stays fresh by about a week.  (This product really saved me when I was setting up this new store last summer and I have continued to use it all winter too!)  Come in and let us show you all the fabulous feeders and accessories we have to make your bird feeding experiences easy, fun, and healthy for the birds!

From the best feeders to setups created to attract hummingbirds, we have everything you need to bring those wonderful, little birds as close as possible. Check out the video below to see our WBU Decorative Window Hummingbird Feeder in action.  Then, stop by the store and we'll be sure you have everything you need to attract hummingbirds, or any other birds, to your backyard.

Making your own hummingbird nectar is easy:  Using a ratio of 1 part sugar to 4 parts water, bring water to boil, turn off the heat and add the sugar, stir to dissolve completely, and cool.  No coloring is needed or desired.  Use only white table sugar.  No artificial sweeteners, molasses, honey, or brown sugar.
